Welcome to ShareCodeLive. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ShareCodeLive platform and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ShareCodeLive is a collaborative code editing platform that provides:
  • Real-time collaborative code editing with multiple users
  • Shared workspaces with editor tabs, chat, and whiteboard
  • Online code execution (JavaScript, Python, C++)
  • AI-powered code assistance
  • Workspace saving, importing, and sharing
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

3. Account Registration

You may use the Service without creating an account. However, certain features require registration. When registering, you agree to:
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all code, text, drawings, and other content you create or upload within the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to create, upload, or share content that:
  • Violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
  • Promotes illegal activities or violence

5. Workspace Sharing

When you create a workspace, a unique workspace ID is generated. Anyone with this ID can access the workspace. You are responsible for controlling who you share the workspace ID with.
Content shared within a workspace is visible to all participants of that workspace. We are not responsible for the actions of other users within a shared workspace.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or connected systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Collect or harvest personal information of other users
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the security of the Service
  • Use the Service to run or execute code that could damage, disable, or impair the Service

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, functionality, and underlying technology, is owned by ShareCodeLive and protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our express written permission.

8. Code Execution

The Service provides an online code execution environment for JavaScript, Python, and C++. You acknowledge that:
  • Code execution occurs in a sandboxed environment with limited resources
  • We are not responsible for the correctness or output of code you execute
  • You should not execute code that could damage the Service or consume excessive resources
  • Execution limits may apply and are subject to change

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services (e.g., Google, Microsoft, Supabase). Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SHARECODELIVE, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
  • Your access to or use of the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Any content obtained from the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ShareCodeLive and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
You may terminate your use of the Service at any time by deleting your account or simply ceasing to use the Service.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
